Much Better

I wish I could share certain details of my life with you. My family and I are going through some cool changes right now and covet your prayers. Someday I'll explain. : )

I'm having a great week, a really great week. Tonight was the first cheerleading practice. We met and talked about next semester's schedule. Then we stretched, worked on our jumps, and did some chants. I am so siked to be doing this again. I love every aspect of it.

Then, everything that was stressing me out has worked itself out, which is a wonderful thing.

Classes are basically over. I took my last really hard test this morning, and I think I did good. yay! I have 4 finals and a little project left, but I'm not worried about any of them. I can't believe my junior year is over. Wow! I'm about to be a SENIOR in college. Crazy.

Tomorrow night I'm going to eat Lebanese food in honor of Mr. Nathan Owen's 21st. woo hoo Happy Birthday!! Then Saturday night I get to party it up with Devin Ferguson for his 20th at PF Chang's. (I am so multicultural...haha) Yay for a good weekend! Oh, and Brooke and I are going jeans shopping Saturday. This is going to be a GREAT weekend!

Summer starts in less than a week!! ahh!!

Life, Love, and Easter eggs

Remember that "Easy Button" I requested a few days ago? Yeah, I'm gonna need to get one of those right about now.

Life would be so boring if it was easy all the time. As much as I really enjoy the "good" times, I see my true self during the hard/bad times. It's the last week of classes, I'm still not through with my conference class, I'm dealing with something quite frustrating right now, and I just did something WAY out of my comfort zone. Despite all these good excuses to complain, I'm loving life. God is faithful to me in every way possible. I put my life in His hands, and he's never disappointed me. : )

I move home in less than two weeks. Oh how I can't wait! I start work at LA Weight Loss in Longview on Monday morning, May 8. If you've ever even considered the program, now's the time to come visit me!

My summer of weddings (Brandon, Sarah, Brandy and PJ, Cody and Karen, Joanie and Robert) begins May 6th with Brandon Well's wedding. I cannot believe he's getting married!! Congrats, again!

This past weekend was so fun. I got to go to Longview and hang out with little Eli for about 24 hours. He turned 5 months old on Saturday, and he can sit up all by himself now. Crazy!! Then Sunday, I visited my new cousin Jackson Wade Reed (this is the little boy who won me $100 in the baby pool!!). He was born April 21 and is 19 inches, 8 lbs 10 oz. : ) As expected, I have pictures:

Eli is all smiles most of the time:

He loves his Aunt Chris, but he refused to smile because I woke him up:

And the newest addition, Jackson Wade:

I almost forgot, here's a picture from my victorious Easter win!! woo hoo! Look at all those eggs! The ones on the grass are the $ eggs. haha

Love you dearly, and hope you're having a good week. Mine can only go up from here (surely).

Class Night 2006!! woo hoo!

Last night was SO much fun! I think I had the coolest group in the world: me and Scott, Erik and Casey, Isaac and Becky, Brooke and Russell, and Jessica and Devin. We began the evening by going to the Class Night ceremony to see Mr. and Miss Southwestern. Kellen and Ryan Puffer really did an excellent job; I laughed so hard.

Mr. Hamilton and me (I had the best date ever!):

Afterwards we headed to dinner (it was a complete surprise) at Hibachi's in Arlington (Japanese food fixed right there in front of you). The guys did an awesome job in the food choice. : ) Scott and I shared some teriyaki steak, filet minon, and sesame chicken. YUM! After dinner, the fountain outside provided a good photo op and some entertainment, just ask Triplett (okay, I won't go there). haha

Doesn't this look like senior prom? That's what we were going for:

Then, we headed to the Parks' Mall to play a rowdy game of broomball with a ton of SAGU students. I was pretty nervous because I hate ice rinks, but it was incredibly fun. Probably 40+ people showed up, and my team finished victorious! woo hoo! Kellen and I got a little crazy with our ballerina move and Charleston dancing. Anyway, I can't believe how fun that really was! haha Around midnight we left for Rogellio's to spend the night (with SAGU's permission, of course) and to sing some karioke, play mafia, watch The Forgotten, and generally have a great time!

Brooke and I put on our game faces:

All smiles, even at midnight:

After 12 straight hours of Class Night extravaganza, Scott and I headed back to the dorms at 7 am for some much needed sleep. I slept til 3:15 pm! haha Anyway, I had an amazing time.

Love you, friends!

Irresponsibility

Due to my irresponsibility and extreme disease of procrastination (evidence: this current moment), I have an entire course to complete in a little under 2 weeks. Yes, my conference class, Psych of Selfhood, has hardly been started. I took the FIRST test yesterday. I have 3 more tests, a paper, a book report, a video response, and chapter responses ALL due by Monday, May 1. Oh yes, chastise me for my huge mistake. My stress level is out the roof at the moment. I am currently working on the chapter responses (I've completed 6 of 12. They aren't hard, just time consuming.) I'll be prepared for the second test on Friday, third on Monday or Tuesday, and I'll take the final during finals week. I'm going to the library tonight to check out a book for my book report (oh no, of course I haven't even started reading a book yet). And hopefully, at some point this weekend, I'll get a good start on that paper (7-10 pages). Wow.

So...enough about school. I dyed my hair last night. : ) I've had some weird blonde streaks left over from last summer's red incident that I've never bothered to correct, so last night I took care of it. I bought this stuff, L'Oreal's Natural Match, and it did the job. It's still dark brown (a little darker than usual, but it'll fade) with some gold tones. I really like it. It's not different enough to warrant a picture though.

I can't wait for Friday. I really am thoroughly excited about Class Night. I found out my group today: Erik and Casey, Brooke and Russell, Devin and Jessica, Isaac and Becky, and Scott and me. Super fun people!! I still have no clue of the plans, but I'm okay with that.

Downside to Friday: my aunt's baby is being induced that morning, so I'm going to miss the birth. : ( I'll go Saturday though. Upside to the baby coming on Friday: I win the baby pool!!! woo hoo!! As long as little Jackson doesn't hold out til after midnight, I'll get $100!! AND if he's 9 lbs 3 oz, I get another $100. I doubt I'm that lucky. haha

Hope you're having a great week! I've officially wasted 15 minutes. haha Love you all!!

Have you met the winner of the Easter egg hunt? Yeah, that's me!!

Which do you like more: posts with lots of pictures or posts with more writing? I honestly want to know.

My easter weekend was fabulous. Friday night I got to hang out with Garrett and Jason. We went to my little bro's concert then saw Scary Movie 4. I don't necessarily recommend it unless you like those movies. haha Saturday, obviously Alesha and Kory got engaged (that consumed my mind the entire day). I did win at Shang Hi Saturday afternoon which was pretty exciting! On Sunday, I cleaned up in the Easter egg hunt: 64 eggs got me the grand prize of $37!! woo hoo! It's the first time I have EVER won!!! My family quit hunting for candy years ago. It's all about the money. Sad, huh? I really couldn't believe I won though.

I have a Class Night date. (Class Night is SAGU's formal where they announce Mr. and Miss SAGU.) I'm really excited. Scott and I are going with a group of people. However, I do not know with who or what we are doing afterwards. All I'm allowed to know is to bring a change of clothes that I can "move in." Hmm...yeah, I have no idea. It'll be fun whatever we do. I'm not even worried about it.

2 weeks of classes and 3 days of finals!! woo hoo!!

My best friend is engaged!!

Kory Moon and Alesha Pither got engaged tonight!!

It was unbelievable! I've known for several months that it would happen, but I can't believe it's actually here. It's Kory's birthday, so Alesha made him dinner. Then after dinner, he popped the question. She said she cried for a few seconds in unbelief before ever answering him. haha Of course she said yes. Then they came over to the Moon's for "birthday cake". All their family and close friends were there to receive them. My face hurts from smiling so big. : ) haha Have a look:

Finally arrived. She's so emotional to see everyone:

I love you, Kory and Alesha. Congratulations!!

I'm home

I'm so glad to be home. I can be myself: lay on the couch in my pjs, no make up, with a computer in my lap, the tv blaring, and my parents on each side. I have a great life.

So, I promised some pictures from Karla's birthday dinner. Sorry I've been holding out.

Alone Time & Sheer Randomness

I love alone time. It's one of the nicest things to jump in my car and drive away alone. Today, I drove to Frisco and went to IKEA and the Stonebriar Mall. I priced bed frames, night stands, dressers, etc. for my new house! And I exchanged the outfit that I had purchased for Easter (it was too big...oh yeah).

Sure, I really enjoy my friends and hanging out, but I need time to think, to process. I get a lot of praying done as well as returning phone calls, listening to my iPod, and enjoying life. *SIgh* Today was great.

Two cool things:
#1- I'm going to Rockford for sure in May!! woo hoo! I found a super cheap ticket, so I get to go see my small group kids graduate and one of my friends get married!! yay!
#2- I'll be working at LA Weight Loss this summer! As far as I know, it's a done deal. I'm going to talk to the manager of the Longview center on Friday to nail things down. I cannot wait. I obviously believe in this program!

This week has been night and day better than last. I have a couple of things due tomorrow, but nothing huge. And I found out all my grades from last week's torment, and I did well on everything. Whew!! Will summer PLEASE hurry up?

Got some stuff on my mind. Wish life had an Easy button like those Staples commercials. haha

I started reading Velvet Elvis last night. Scott loaned it to me. He said if I liked Blue Like Jazz that I'd like this one. Oh my little conservative mind is getting stretched. haha

Happy Easter, dearest friends. Take a moment to remember why we celebrate this holiday. My best friend, Jesus, died a very cruel death so that we could live together forever. That's true love.

Nascar and Adventure

I am SO glad that this past week is over! It was rough, but it's just down hill from here. Yay!

I had an unexpectedly fantastic weekend. Friday afternoon I watched SAGU's baseball team whoop up on Paul Quinn. I'm not even kidding; final score: 32-22 with 5 homeruns!! Then a few of us went out for Karla's birthday. I'll post some pictures soon; we were out of control. haha

Saturday and Sunday I worked the nascar races (Casey Kahne won Sunday- he's super cute...haha). Last year's races were like torture to me, so I had low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. Scott Hamilton, Dustin and Amy Robinson, and I had a lot of fun. We had a good group: got done an hour and a half before the other stands. Yeah, we're awesome.

Then last night was so much fun. Esther, Christine, Scott and I went on an adventure around Waxahachie. I can't really explain, but just know it was a blast. : ) haha

This week is Easter which means: NO CLASS FRIDAY! woo hoo! This is going to be a great week!!

I've had a day...

It's been one of those days- enough bad and good happened that it was neither a bad or good day. haha You know what I mean?

It started out well: classes (one cancelled even!), chapel, work. Then it went down hill: I had to go to the registrar's office 3 times, 2 different advisors, 2 different professors, and call both financial aid and distance education in order to get registered for this coming fall! I had to change my schedule 3 times just today (2 professors refused to conference classes and then I was denied for summer conferencing). *sigh* Nobody wants to work with me.

I for sure will be graduating Spring 2007. Out of the 8 classes that I need to graduate, only 1 was offered this summer (I needed to take 3 in order to graduate in December). And because I can potentially carry a full load both fall and spring, they didn't consider it an emergency, which means they won't pull strings. Oh well. So this is the final result (and the ONLY possible combination of classes):
Fall 2006:
World Literature
English Literature I
American Literature I (Distance Ed)
History and Systems of Psychology (senior level- ekk!)

Spring 2007:
Developmental Psychology
Abnormal Psychology
Human Sexuality (also senior level)
Bible as Literature

I really don't need to hear that any of these classes are horrible or this is a bad combination. I really might burst into tears. :* (

However, the day was saved. I went to dinner with a close friend to discuss some cool stuff. I'll share more about that at a later time.

I love you, my dearest Xanga readers.

Few last minute random thoughts: the contract on our house was signed today, I have a huge project due Friday, I'm going to a Ranger's game tomorrow, I love my nephew, the new Rascal Flatts is AMAZING, sugar free Jolly Ranchers are kick butt good, and I still can't believe I'm going to be a cheerleader.

Thank you

Really- Thank you so, so much for your wonderful, sweet, encouraging comments! I really wasn't digging for compliments; I just felt like I had been keeping a secret for the last 7 months and wanted to share it with you. : ) Thank you, wonderful xanga readers, for caring about my life! I'm glad I told you. I've already had 2 people inquire about LAWL and one even signed up!! Yippee. Guess I'll keep you updated.

I'm having a rough week= 4 tests, 1 project (worth 1/4 of my grade), and a 10 page paper. Plus, I had to work 3 extra hours today. Please feel sorry for me. haha But the good news is that after this week, I only have 1 more test and a very short paper til finals. woo hoo!

Made a pretty big decision. I'm putting off graduation until Spring '07. Yeah, I'm kinda sad about it, but it's mostly good. I won't be stressed out all summer trying to do 9 hours and work, and no more semesters of 15 hours! I can't decide whether I'd like to do summer- 3 hours, fall- 12 hours, spring- 9 hours...or fall-12 and spring-12. Hmm... I should figure it out soon since today was preregistration. : ) Also, if I stick around, I'd get a genuine senior year, I could cheer both semesters, and neither semester would be slammed.

I'm so tired. Pray I make it through this week with my sanity. I have so much to do, then this weekend I work the NASCAR races, so I won't get to sleep at all. : ( Guess I'll sleep after college. haha
